Name: Vash Zwingli
Nicknames: Switzy, Billy Goat, Grump, Big Brudder, Money Bags
Age: 24
Date of Birth: August 1st
Gender: Male
Occupation: Banker, Accountant
Heritage: Domestic Goat, Valais Blackneck (Capra aegagrus hircus)
Seed Rank: Flight Seed
Birthplace: Bern, Switzerland
Appearance: Vash has only reached average height at around 5’ 10” (178 cm) and weighs in at around 160 lbs (72.5 kg). His yellow-blond hair is chin-length and his eyes are a mint-green. His hair style is a bit of a break from his normally conservative style of dress and appearance, but his choice of haircut remains unchanged from his early adolescent years. His skin is pale, and his body is lean but not muscular. Vash thinks he looks nice, and he is not ashamed to be nude...surprisingly from his usual uptightness.
He dresses conservatively with slacks and button down shirts. For business, the typical suit is his chosen attire while he opts for jeans and nice tops for casual wear. During the colder months, he is fond of overcoats and scarves with mittens of gloves. He sleeps in pajamas, occasionally donning the pink frilly ones his sister sewed him. For underwear, Vash only wears boxers which are stretched, baggy, and ragged from not being replaced in forever.
Distinguishing Features: Cross-shaped scar on his left shoulder
Sexual Orientation: Whatever fits...but he’d never let his little sister know he was interested in anyone in a sexual way. She’s too young for that stuff.
Likes:
- Guns—Members of the Swiss militia are issued weapons to keep in their home, so Vash grew up around weapons. His father passed on his enthusiasm for firearms to his son. France has a bit more regulations than Switzerland, and while Vash is frugal in most things, he never hesitated to apply and pay for a weapon permit when he arrived.
- Good Food and Drink—Vash is European and has the tastes of one. Cities like Zurich and Geneva are global centers, so he has a great appreciation for many styles of food. He shops on a budget and usually buys what is fresh and on sale.
- Coupons—How else are you supposed to get a €25 bottle of wine for €20? No, he doesn’t have a binder with page protectors...he has a file folder with them alphabetized by product.
- Tea and Coffee—They keep him working through the late nights of balancing the books. He likes to try different types and experiment with flavors...as long as they don’t cost too much.
- Organization— Being an accountant can give one a serious case of OCD. He believes that organization is the key to success, so he keeps schedules, budgets, lists, and plans heavily.
- Yodeling and Traditional Folk Music—This is a secret interest. He has several CD’s, songs on his iPod, and some old vinyl records...and other paraphernalia...no he does not have lederhosen...okay he does...along with other Swiss folk costumes, but he keeps them hidden.
Dislikes:
- Spending Money—The Swiss may have the bank accounts of the world’s rich and famous...and infamous...along with a stash of Nazi gold, but Vash’s frugality knows no rival.
- Noise and Disruptions—Accountants need quite to work, and Vash likes to enjoy his meals and walks in the country without disturbances.
- Invading his Personal Space—He has a bubble just like his home country. No Axis or Allied planes there, no getting to close to him...or touching or hugging...except maybe Liechtenstein.
- Uncleanliness—Dirt and grime do not make for an environment conducive to business or domestic living.
- Being asked for a loan—Just because he is a banker means he is made of money!? Get in line and fill out an application!
Interests/Hobbies:
- Amateur Gunsmith—Guns need cleaning, and Vash is all too happy to engage in this activity himself to enjoy both his guns and love of cleaning. He also does modifications all on his own...all legal of course...in Switzerland...and America...some may be dubious in France.
- Hunting—Guns and free meat, plus the Alpine outdoors...well French countryside here
- Cooking—It is cheaper than eating out, and he has learned both how to stretch his Euros and add flavor.
- Cleaning—Vash is constantly ordering his house...being Alpine in origin, he prefers to mop with Pine-Sol...”That’s the power of Pine-sol, baby!”
- Gardening—It’s a good stress-reliever, and it’s a decent way to save money while still having fresh produce. Vash has a small backyard where he grows produce and herbs, and he also maintains several window boxes.
Aspirations:
- Become a Partner of an Accounting Firm or Join Upper Management at the Bank—Vash would very much like to move up the ladder, and he is currently polishing his résumé and developing leadership skills.
- Travel the World—This will be done on a budget of course, but Geneva and the other metropolitan areas of Switzerland are so diverse, they sparked in him an interest in seeing the other places of the world. His own country is so beautiful, why not the others?
- Marry—Being a Flight Seed Zuman and having an innate instinct to reproduce, Vash would like to settle down with a family...for now, he is surprisingly open to the occasional romp...but he would never let news of such come to Lili’s ears. He is a goat after all, the animal that embodies lust.
Fears:
- His Little Sister Dating—The girl is his adopted sister, but she is his only sister. Vash is very protective of her.
- Large Predators—Being part of a goat heritage, he has a natural fear of large predators. Being a gun enthusiast, he will shoot first and ask questions later.
- Being Broke—Vash has a reason behind his frugal nature. He never wants to do without, but he wants to enjoy the fine things of life. In order to achieve this, he saves and plans his spending.
Personality:
Grump, yep, that is what many people would describe Vash as upon spending any time with him. People? Why does he need them, financial ledgers and numbers are much more interesting to deal with, right? Well, that is only Vash on the surface. People really are important to him, and that is one of the reasons why he works at the bank. He sees himself as the guardian of people’s livelihood as well as the local economy as he protects the money and makes sure investments are made with proper caution while always yielding the best returns. People just tend to get in the way of his strict standards of efficiency and accuracy...even though he is concerned with helping people.
Vash’s tendency to be a task-oriented person makes him come off as cold and unsociable, but he does have several soft spots and passions. Most prominent of these is his sister Lili...for whom he would literally shoot someone to protect. Such is the degree of Vash’s loyalty to both family, friend, and country. Well, it would be towards his friends if he kept any close interpersonal relationship beyond his family. His previously strained relationship with Roderich left him turned off to the idea of opening up himself to be vulnerable to anyone. For this reason, Vash’s personal business is closely guarded as his own and no one else’s concern.
Vash has a love for beauty and nature instilled in him from his home at the foot of the Alps where the Alpine splendor was always within one’s immediate gaze. The meadows of edelweiss call to him, and he has learned to enjoy the simply things in life: good food, good music, good fellowship...if he took the time to fellowship. The outdoor world is constantly calling to the man who spends many late nights with ledgers and calculators, but Vash is a person who is strictly self-disciplined and therefore able to go hunting or fishing as he pleases. His time management skills are excellent, but people may be offended when he seems to reduce them to just another activity on his tight schedule.
Speaking of being tight, Vash’s purse strings could cut off the circulation of a whale’s aorta...or anyone’s fingers who tried to reach therein. Budgets are important to him both personally and at work. Sticky notes are too expensive, use waste scratch paper and a small piece of tape. Put that cheese back and buy the cheaper brand...it just tastes better if you ask me...Always print on both sides of a document, and everyone is only allowed one pen for the month. If there is a supply cabinet, Vash has the key to it, and at home, he keeps food frozen in that he bought in bulk and portioned out.
Despite his miserliness in many instances, Vash is not against having a good time or being generous. The money he saves on groceries can be used to but beautiful earrings for his mother and sister for Christmas or a nice box of cigars for his father or an exquisite bottle of wine for his friend...again if he kept anyone close enough. Vash is also careful to pay his tithes to the church (he is a staunch Reformed Protestant) and give money to local charities. Under his guidance, the bank he works for has taken a greater role in community sponsorship for both local events and charitable organizations.
Certainly, Vash must be taken at more than face value, and he must be allowed to warm up to a person. In the business world he is a staunch advocate for playing by the rules and proceeding with caution but at the same time great ambition to advance both the organization and the people who depend on it. He is nothing if not a team player...even if he does not care to know about anyone else on the team. Fall in line and follow his lead, and Vash will repay those who march to beat with great generosity. Prove to him that you are capable of leadership and inspire him to rally to your cause, and he will follow you to the gates of hell. With Vash, discipline is the name of the game, so maybe he needs someone in his life to teach him to relax and loosen up.
Family:
- Father—Klaus Zwingli—Bern—Domestic Goat
- Mother—Fiona Zwingli—Geneva—Domestic Goat
- Adoptive Sister—Lili Zwingli—Liechtenstein—Sheep
Brief History: Vash Zwingli was born to Klaus and Fiona Zwingli, two goat Zumans who lived as upper middle-class citizens in Bern, Switzerland. Vash grew up under the watchful eye of his mother and firm but loving hand of his banker father. His mother worked only part-time running a small catering business from their home. Klaus worked as chief financial officer for a hospital, and both parents pushed their son to perform well academically and also to become a well-rounded young man. As a young child, Vash loved to play on the hills of the countryside which his family would visit on the weekends. His father took Vash hunting often and taught the boy to shoot. While Vash cried the first time he ever shot a bird, the boy soon became an impressive hunter for his age.
Growing up, Vash’s parents loved to travel to foreign countries on summer vacations: France, Germany, Italy, and they always made an annual trip to Austria during Christmas time. In Graz, Vash made a friend named Roderich with whom he shared many days of his family’s Christmas vacations each year. One year when Roderich was twelve and Vash was thirteen, the two boys had a fight, a public argument in front of other friends. To this day, the two do not remember what it was about, but they have had little to no contact since. Roderich retreated to his piano and Vash turned instead to his guns. Lasting and meaningful relationships were never Vash’s strong point, so most of his friendships have been cordial and superficial since his argument with Roderich.
At sixteen, Vash finished his secondary school two years early and began his first year of university away in Geneva, pursuing a degree in accounting with a double major in finance and a minor in business administration. During this time, Vash’s parents informed him of their intent to adopt a little girl, and while he did not understand his parents’ motivation or reasoning, Vash was relatively unconcerned and focused instead on his studies. Lili Zwingli joined his family as his adopted sister a year later. Intially, Vash was standoffish towards the young girl, but at the age of 11, she began to show interest in his firearms. With the mutually shared enthusiasm acting as the catalyst, Vash changed quickly over the next year into the perfect big brother.
At the age of 20, Vash completed his bachelor’s degree in Geneva and returned him to work on his Master of Business Administration degree in Bern. He also continued to grow closer to his sister, teaching her to hunt and shoot as their father had taught Vash. After two years of work, Vash completed his MBA and went to work for a bank where he worked with efficiency and innovation. He rose quickly, being promoted twice in his two year tenure before being asked to relocate to France to oversee a new project and operations there. Vash was hesitant to leave his family, but Lili had just left to study in France through a program at her secondary school. The immediate benefits of providing oversight to his sister combined with the long-term career benefits motivated the young blond businessman to relocate to France. He is currently finishing up his move in to his new apartment.

Mouse...Why did this new apartment have to have mice...it was touted as a great place to live that was clean and modern...not rat infested. Vash had ways of dealing with these types of problems, though. As he grumbled, he was busy setting out traps with his cheap cheese taken from the fridge. He clumped it up on the paddle and set three traps. He placed them per the instructions on package against the baseboards along with the mice run...so they would be caught in his death trap. Stupid mice, did they not realize that Swiss territory was neutral ground...but they’d fight against any foreign invaders..Okay, so the mice were here first, but there is a new sheriff in town.
With his murderous intentions put into practical application, Vash moved to the fridge from which he extracted a bottle of wine and poured a glass while he returned to his potato soup which simmered on the stove. He tasted it and then added a bit more pepper and grated cheese. He nodded in approval as he returned the bottle to be saved for later. He retrieved his implements for supper and ladled out a portion for himself. Over the top he added bacon and more of the same deadly cheese with which he baited the mice along with some green onions. Yep, that would do it. The blond moved to sit on the couch where he began to eat while turning on the television. Was he watching the stock market? No...Vash was actually watching a sitcom. What kind of nerd or greedy grabber do you take him for? He chuckled as one of the characters threatened to strangle another of the members of the regular troupe.
