Name: Alfred Franklin Jones
Nicknames: Al (most commonly), Alfie (doesn't like this much), Freddie, Fred
Age: Twenty
Date of Birth: July 4th
Gender: Male
Occupation: College student
Heritage: Bald eagle
Seed Rank: Heavy Seed
Birthplace: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Appearance:
His looks are actually rather average. He's moderately tall, standing at 177cm (which he rounds up to 5'10", because he never really got the hang of that whole metric thing). Though he frets over his weight, he's actually pretty fit, most of his so-called 'excess weight' actually going toward muscle. This isn't to say that his diet hasn't affected him at all - He does have a little pudge around the middle, though it's nothing too terrible. He also wears glasses.
He nearly always has some sort of grin on his face, accentuating just how youthful his features actually are.
Distinguishing Features: A few small scars here and there from ridiculous escapades when he was a kid, but nothing huge. He also has a cowlick on the top of his head that he can't seem to get to cooperate no matter how hard he tries.
Sexual Orientation: Pansexual
Likes:
- Hamburgers - A beautiful medley of multiple flavors nestled between two buns. What could be better?
- Food in general - He'll eat almost anything in general. Food is not just something he needs for sustenance but a source of comfort.
- Airplanes - He wears his grandfather's old World War II bomber jacket for a reason.
- Guns - Alfred has enjoyed the feeling of a gun in his hand since he first tried shooting in high school.
- Coffee - He needs some sort of caffeine, and he won't touch tea... (with rare exceptions)
- Disney - Alfred is a huge Disney freak, to the point where he has an entire shelf dedicated to Disney movies in his home. Not that he wants to show you it, but...
- Freedom - Nuff said.
- Video games - Fun way to pass the time!
Dislikes:
- Silence - He doesn't always mind silence for the sake of silence, but he can't stand awkward silences or silences in crowded rooms. He always has to say something to break up the silence, or he starts getting extremely antsy.
- Tea - He actually likes the taste of tea. He just outright refuses to drink it owing to a bad experience that he had when he was a child. Go figure. (He makes the occasional exception for sweet tea)
- Horror movies (despite how much he watches them) - He dislikes the fact that he can do nothing but shout at the screen at the characters.
- Enclosed spaces - To the point where he can be considered claustrophobic.
- Marmite - It's some of the most vile stuff known to man, without being toxic. That isn't right.
Interests/Hobbies:
- Space - An interest he's held since he was a child, staring up at the stars and moon and wishing that he could explore what was up there.
- Aliens - This goes hand in hand with space, and he's sure that the folks at Roswell have been covering something.
- Superheroes - Ever since he read his first comic book as a kid, he's been hooked, and still loves to collect both the comic books and the movies that have come out recently.
Aspirations:
- Discover something major - As Alfred is going into astronomy, he wants to find something new out there. Maybe an Alfred F. Jones comet. Or maybe he'll be the first to discover life on other planets! Lofty dreams, but hey, better to dream big than not dream at all.
- Get his degree - ...granted, he'll have to do this before he can really accomplish any of the above. He might want to get his priorities in check.
- Befriend an alien- ...nope, no one ever said Alfred's dreams were realistic in the least...to make matters worse he's already decided that he's going to name the first alien he meets Tony, after a stuffed animal he had when he was a kid.
Fears:
- Being forgotten - The last thing he wants is to fade into obscurity, leaving nothing behind when he leaves the world. He wants to make a mark on it.
- Enclosed spaces/being trapped - Actually being physically trapped somewhere will induce a panic attack in him, without a doubt. However, this is not only a physical fear, but also a psychological one. What does that mean? He doesn't just need to be physically trapped for it to elicit a reaction. If he feels trapped in a situation or helpless, he will react in his own way. Expect him to talk a lot more and fidget quite often.
- Ghosts - He can handle gore in a scary movie decently, but throw in ghosts and you'll get the poor boy whimpering almost immediately (not that he'd ever admit it, of course).
Personality:
Hero complex - Probably one of the FIRST things you'll note about Alfred is his glaring hero complex. If he sees someone in trouble or in need of help, he'll jump in immediately. The inherent problem with this is the fact that he fails to understand when people actually want him there and when he's simply poking his nose where it doesn't belong. He just knows that whenever there's a problem, he wants to help, and he doesn't understand why anyone wouldn't want his help. His intentions are good, but his actions don't always convey this. He has a wild imagination, which probably doesn't help matters.
Materialistic - Alfred loves things. He loves to follow all of the latest trends, but doesn't mind getting caught up in a bit of nostalgia too at times. He's amassed various collections over the years. His most prized would be his comic book collection, but he's also collected state quarters, stamps, and video games. He also has a secret love of Disney movies and has quite a few of those as well (but shh, that one's a secret). It also must be noted that every time a new I-phone comes out, Alfred tries to be one of the first in line to get it. He hates to have any of his electronics "out of style".
Impulsive - Acting without thinking? Well that describes Alfred pretty well, doesn't it? It's not that he doesn't think, it's just that the thinking tends to come after the acting. Alfred is very excitable when he gets an idea in his head, which usually results in a 'do now, think later' sort of attitude. Which is great when it actually works out, but often times causes more harm than it does good. It's one thing when you jump into making the next I-phone purchase, but another when you jump to conclusions in investigations before taking everything into consideration.
Bossy - Alfred likes to be in the driver's seat whenever anything is going on. Unfortunately, as with many other things, he often doesn't take others' opinions into consideration before he acts.
Optimistic - One of Al's better qualities is his ability to look at the glass half full. If everyone is feeling down and out, he'll probably be the last person left cheering for what little hope is left. It's not always a realistic attitude, mind, but at least he's not liable to give up easily. Even he has his limits, though, and the flip-side of this is that, if he DOES happen to shift to a pessimistic viewpoint on something, it's difficult as hell to get him out of his funk.
Insecure - He's a lot more insecure than he likes to let on. Much of his boasting and arrogance is actually bravado. He's terrified of being given that responsibility only to let someone down. He hasn't screwed up badly yet, but that doesn't mean the worry isn't ever present in his mind.
Determination - No one can accuse Alfred of not having determination. When he's determined to do something, he'll do everything in his power to make sure he succeeds at his goal. Doesn't always mean he'll succeed, but he'll try.
Loud - If you're in a room with Al, chances are, you'll know he's there. He has some very attention-whorish tendencies, and loves it when the attention is focused on him. As expected, many people see him as obnoxious and bigmouthed as a result (not that they're entirely wrong).
Easily distracted - While he's a force to be reckoned with when he's serious about something, in every day life Alfred is easily distracted, especially if the subject matter is something he's not particularly interested in. In other words? He could carry on a conversation all day and night about space and aliens, but if you want to talk about global warming? Unless you want to listen to him ramble on about Globa-Man (and most don't), he's liable to drift off very easily.
Family:
- Half brother - Matthew Williams
- Mother
- Father
Brief History:
From an early age, Alfred's parents were determined that their son learn how to adapt to both worlds. He was his father's only child, and his mother's second child (he had a half brother, Matthew, through a past mating of his mother's). He was a loud baby, though one who clearly knew how to communicate what he wanted. His mother managed to figure out his cries within the first couple of weeks. He was also on the move even from this young age.
Once Alfred learned to walk, he did just that. He was also into just about everything he could get into. His parents were ever grateful for the extra effort they'd put into childproofing the house. Once he learned to talk in full sentences, he was constantly bombarding his parents with questions. Even though Alfred was turning out to be quite a handful, it was clear that he was at the very least a precocious little boy, and one that had big dreams.
Alfred's childhood was a relatively happy one. As a result of early exposure to human society, Alfred found it much easier to walk the line between the zuman world and the regular human world than he would have if he had to make the attempt at a later stage in his life. He was homeschooled for his first few years of schooling, in an attempt to make certain he didn't let slip what he was in childish folly. It was especially a concern because Alfred was willing to talk with almost everyone about anything. By the time middle school arrived, his parents deemed him ready to go to school with regular humans, a task that he succeeded at with minimal difficulty. He's now studying as a university student of astronomy with little difficulty, save for the occasional slip ups. So far though, he's been able to pass those off. Hopefully it remains that way.

Alfred was relaxing in front of the TV and channel surfing when he heard a knock on the door. He set his chips aside and made for the door, slightly puzzled. He couldn't recall anyone saying that they would be dropping by. It wouldn't be the first time he had a visitor turn up without warning. Hell, Erin did it all the time!
When he approached the front door, he was surprised to find his brother standing at the doorway, apparently talking to someone. Contrary to what Mattie believed, Alfred never actually forgot that his brother existed. He just liked to tease his brother and sometimes went a bit too far (though he wasn't aware of the latter bit, of course). "Hey, Mattie, who is it?" It didn't even matter to him that Mattie showed up without calling first. Come on, it was Mattie. Longest unprotected border in the world! Like he really cared about his brother turning up out of the blue every once in a while!
What he did care about was the distinctly Russian accent he heard in the same vicinity. Alfred's eyes narrowed. The Cold War might have been over, but that didn't mean Alfred's hard feelings toward Ivan and some of his cronies completely faded. How could he trust a Russian so close to his house? A Russian that somehow managed to find his address no less? He was on friendly terms with a few members of the former Soviet Union, though mostly those he pledged to help. This man sounded Russian as Russian could be. It was an accent that Alfred could place anywhere after the preceding four decades of tension.
"Alfred! Some psycho with a bat is here to see you!"
Some...psycho with a bat? That was unexpected, but not so unexpected as what Alfred saw behind Matthew as he turned around. Alfred reacted instantly, sprinting forward and catching the bat just before it smashed into his brother's head. His attention turned toward the Russian with a glare.
"What the hell is your problem? Bitter because your precious Soviet Union collapsed?" Alfred cooed to the shorter man in a mocking voice, assuming (incorrectly) that that was why he was here.
His blue eyes narrowed dangerously as his grip on the bat tightened. "You do not take a swing at my brother, you understand me?" Alfred snarled, his voice full of venom. "If you have a problem, you will discuss it with me." He released the bat. "Now, can we use our words or did you have other plans?" He clearly had no qualms about it either way.
