Name: Ludwig Beilschmidt
Nicknames: Lud, Lutz, West
Age: 23
Date of Birth: June 8th
Gender: Male
Occupation: Baker
Heritage: Doberman Pinscher
Seed Rank: Light Seed
Birthplace: Berlin, Germany
Appearance: Ludwig is not a small man. He is five feet, eleven inches tall, two more inches taller than his brother, which he has always secretly taken pride in even if it isn't by much. His eyes are a sharp blue that seem to get more intense when provoked or working diligently. His hair is a light cornstalk blond, always kept in a neat, slicked back style as Ludwig hates anything obscuring his vision including his hair. He is not exactly tan, but compared to Gilbert's almost ghostly skin, he looks more so than normal.
Normally, he wears pretty much anything ranging from a simple, plain t-shirt and jeans to a high class suit for meetings. On his head, just behind his ear is a large scar and yet another can be found on his jaw. Ludwig's palms are rough from continuous work and physical training to keep himself in shape.
Not liking to leave himself open, Ludwig keeps a stoic face most of the time, only showing his emotions around those he truly trusts. A genuine laugh from him is a rarity also, as he is not one to understand most jokes or even have very much of a sense of humor. Again, once in a while that side of him will reveal itself only when someone he can trust, and cares about is around him. But normally, the blond goes around with what seems like an eternal scowl on his face, as if daring someone to pick a fight with him.
Distinguishing Features: Bright blue eyes, his stature and build, mostly the way he presents himself as a whole.
Sexual Orientation: Homosexual, though he isn't extremely open about it.
Likes:
- Animals in general- He even has three dogs and a cat of his own.
- Artillery- Though his profession wouldn't hint at it, he does have an interest in guns as well as other weapons used in combat throughout the years.
- Cleanliness- Ludwig hates messy living spaces and has since he was a child, though he's not exactly sure where these feelings came from, its hard for him to not fidget in a room that hasn't been properly cleaned.
- Quiet- One of the things Ludwig values is a peaceful spot for him to gather his thoughts to himself, he doesn't like being in loud places for too long of a time.
- His brother- Though their personalities are almost the opposite of each other, he does respect and love his brother. Gilbert was more or less the one to make Ludwig come out of his shell, so to speak
Dislikes:
- Tardiness- Being late in unacceptable, this can be attributed to the strict upbringing his father put upon him.
- Laziness- Ludwig believes that everyone should do their part and give one hundred percent, meaning that slacking off is simply unheard of.
- Uncleanliness- The very sight of dirt is enough to set him on edge, being in an unclean environment makes Ludwig uneasy and sometimes he will even go out of his way to clean what he deems filthy.
- Liars- Ludwig holds trust above almost anything else, it is not easily gained and it is a fragile thing. Once his trust in someone is shattered, they would have to jump through hoops to get it back.
- Those who depend solely on others- Being as independent as he is, its hard for him to understand how someone can base their entire life off of one person. It's more of a pet peeve than anything, but it does irritate him to no end when he sees it
Interests/Hobbies:
- Baking- From when he was a young child, Ludwig loved baking things, the hobby ending up turning into his current profession.
- Sewing- Along with baking, sewing is one of the things that helps Ludwig calm himself down, however he's not as open about it as he is with his profession.
- Working Out- He may be a baker, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't keep himself in shape. Ludwig keeps himself on an almost daily workout routine, becoming disgruntled whenever someone interrupts him.
Aspirations:
- To make his family proud- Regardless of what kind of relationship he has with any of them, one of Ludwig's desires is to be someone his family can be proud of.
- Becoming more social- Ludwig can be prickly at times, however he would like to be more social than he has been in the past. Keeping the company of others without chasing them away because of his appearance and attitude would be a definite plus.
- Finding someone who will make him happy- His eyes may be set on someone already, but Ludwig will never be someone to force emotions on another person. If things don't work out as planned, he will move on and find someone he was meant to be with.
Fears:
- Being alone- One of Ludwig's greatest fears is ending up alone, being the perfectionist he is, he believes that one mistake will end up turning those he is close to away from him forever.
- Losing his brother- Its obvious that Gilbert is a large influence in his life, therefore losing him in any way, shape, or form would be unimaginable for him.
- Failure- No matter how small it is, failure has never been an option for him, even the thought is enough to make him internally panic though he may not show it on the outside.
Personality: Ludwig's personality is hard to determine to say the least. He is not the most open person in the world, almost never actually speaking his mind unless being forced to do so. Occasionally he will gain a bit of confidence to speak about his true feelings, but those moments are few and far between. Of course, confidence is a big issue with him. Not that he is not a confident man in general, but with his emotions, it's not his strong point.
It's not hard to make Ludwig blush. A well placed touch (even though it may land the unlucky person a nice punch to the face), an innuendo, even a suggestion that normally he wouldn't think of. Anything close to that will bring the blood rushing to his face in a matter of seconds. Ludwig hates blushing, especially when he is informed of such, but the poor man can't help it. He is very conserved, not daring to speak of anything of a sexual nature unless in the heat of the moment.
Just as anyone would expect from this intimidating looking man, Ludwig is very serious when his work, country, people, or family are concerned. He will do almost anything to protect what he holds close, and will take anyone down who dares to threaten it. Even if his opponent is too strong, well, he can do his best to bring them down with him.
He is almost always more than willing to jump into something head first and take charge of the situation. Barking orders and making sure the job gets done is one of the things Ludwig does best, as well as one of the qualities that has gotten him so far ahead so quickly. Though this part of him tends to be the side that intimidates people the most.
However, even though he can seem scary most of the time, Ludwig does have a soft spot that craves for attention. He wants to make everyone proud of him. A small sense of satisfaction passes through him when he receives praise from someone he doesn't expect, or looks up to, making it a victory inside for himself.
Ludwig hates being talked down to anytime during any occasion. As far as he is concerned, he can take care of himself, and is no longer the feeble nation who needed his big brother to chase away anyone who tried to take him. It's one of the small things that sets him off, made obvious by the way his voice seems to get harsher, and louder if they carry on. Not one to get too violent without proper reason, Ludwig tries to avoid anyone he knows who will do this to him while he is present. Unfortunately sometimes that just doesn't happen, and the person who is doing it should expect themselves to be thrown to the ground in the next few seconds.
Family:
- Gilbert Beilschmidt- Brother
- Willhelm Beilschmidt- Grandfather
- Julia Beilschmidt- Niece
Brief History: From a very young age, Ludwig has always been well behaved, almost the exact opposite of his brother. In school he achieved some of the top grades in his classes, though he wasn't a very social boy. Up until his late teenage years, Ludwig was a very quiet, secluded child, almost never approaching anyone new and keeping his mouth shut unless called upon in class. Most of his confidence now can be attributed to his brother, whom--before he went to boarding school--he would follow around and take advice from when he could get it.
Once his brother was sent away, Ludwig discovered he could find solace in baking; especially when he was nervous. He often looked forward to the letters Gilbert would send home, though the contents of those letters had never been shown to anyone before. As he grew older he found that he had a bit of a crush on his older brother, however whether those feelings can be doused or not remains to be unseen.

Looking around the office, he placed his work on the desk. Well...there was nothing wrong with it certainly, but it still seemed strange. Ludwig hadn't gotten a say in whether or not he would be joining Nation Corp., even the history of the company was shady to say the least. He had tried to find out as much as he could when propositioned and couldn't find anything. It just seemed strange, like a feeling that he couldn't shake.
Everything had been fine before that letter came in the mail. He had a job, was living with Gilbert in a nice place, their money was in order. Then it had all gone down the drain in a single day. Not only had he lost his job, but his bank account had been completely emptied with not a single penny left to his name. It was all so odd, Ludwig knowing in the back of his mind that Nation Corp. had a hand in it somehow. He just didn't understand how they could have done it so quickly and without notice.
With a sigh, he began to unpack. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad...at least he was here with Gilbert and Roderich as well, much better than going in this alone with no one he would know at all. Either way, he would have to play along for now; become a good worker again like he had been while attending his old job. It could no doubt prove useful in the future, especially if he was moved up in the corporation; then things might begin to explain themselves.
Ludwig ran a hand through his hair and took another look around, mouth twitching. Aside from the desk and the chair behind it, the room was empty. The blond didn't have much to bring from his old job other than small trinkets that lined his desk. “Perhaps a walk around this place will calm my nerves...” Ludwig spoke to himself quietly. Anything to escape the claustrophobic feel the office was giving him now.
Taking a piece of paper, he wrote a short note on it to anyone who may come searching for him in his absence. Although, he highly doubted anyone other than the few people he happened to know already would even bother looking for him. He walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him as he began his walk down the long hallway in front of him. 'Gilbert should be around he somewhere as well, we're in the same department after all.' Ludwig thought as he continued his walk.
Two other men came into view shortly; both of them blond like him, however one had longer hair and the other had fairly large eyebrows. They seemed to be fighting about something, though Ludwig had no care to find out what it may be they could be arguing over. Talking to them later however, was definitely an option, the more acquaintances he made here, the more of an easier time he would have adjusting, That much was a given.
A quiet hum left his mouth as he continued on with his goal. Hopefully someone he actually knew would turn up sooner rather than later.
